Leg-day volume without the recovery crash
Leg training can create large amounts of fatigue because many exercises use substantial muscle mass. Effective programming does not require turning every session into a survival test.
Select one main squat or press pattern, one hinge, and focused work for the quadriceps, hamstrings and calves. Stop sets when technique changes significantly.
Splitting weekly volume across two sessions often improves quality. Increase sets only when performance and recovery show that the current amount is manageable.
